Generally speaking, it is normal for
diesel generators to heat up when running under load, but the generator set manufacturer believes that the relationship between temperature rise, temperature rise limit, and heat resistance of insulation materials should be clarified when the generator is running.
The temperature rise of the diesel generator is 40℃ higher than the ambient temperature, which is a normal heating phenomenon. Once it exceeds this, your generator must be repaired. In addition, the generator set manufacturer has found that the degree of generator heating is mainly determined by the insulation level inside the generator. Generally, the heat resistance of the generator does not exceed 130℃ inside and 80℃ outside, which is within the normal range. As long as the heating temperature of the generator is within the allowable range, it will not affect the service life, so generally ignore it.
If the temperature rise is too high, it must be repaired before it can be used. So what generator behaviors will cause abnormal heating of the generator? The following generator set manufacturer will analyze it for you:
1: The generator bearing is short of oil or the axial clearance is too small. Troubleshooting method: check and replace.
2: The bearing is worn or damaged, and the rotor is swept. Troubleshooting method: check, replace the bearing, and correct the rotor shaft.
3: The stator winding is short-circuited or the lead wire is grounded. Troubleshooting method: Check, rewire, and send for repair if necessary.
4: The generator runs for a long time under overload conditions, which is also the main reason for the excessive temperature rise of the generator and is also a fatal heating damage to the generator. Troubleshooting method: Immediately unload part of the load and let the generator run within the rated power range.
5: The ambient temperature around the generator is too high. Troubleshooting method: Increase the air convection speed and use possible measures to reduce the ambient temperature.
